We have come to the end of the Pet Peeve Mondays in August. *sad face* BUT before I let you go, you should know my BIGGEST pet peeve of them all:
“Imma call you back.”
No, no, no, no! People have begun using this as a (pathetic) way to end phone conversations. I absolutely hate this innocent lie.
Here’s the proper protocol (my preference, anyway). You should only use this phrase if you meet the following criteria:
A. You have to run a quick errand.
B. You are in the middle of the convo.
C. You are getting another call.
But wait, AND THIS IS THE DOOZY, even if you meet the aforementioned criteria, you must REALLY have plans to call the person back within 2HRS (again, my personal preferred time:).
For all else, you should politely say “bye” or “talk to you later.” I can live with “later” being indefinite.
COMMON COURTESY, people. Don’t have me waiting by the phone. Thanks, I will really appreciate you all following the phone protocol.
Peace, Blessings & Prosperity!
